WVLR HISTORY
WVLR TV, an affiliate of the Christian Television Network, signed on the air in October of 2002. Our transmitter, located on top of Clinch Mountain, Rutledge, Tennessee, has a radiated power of 1 million watts, covering the Knoxville DMA and parts of Kentucky and Virginia with a potential viewership of 2.2 million.
Through our local and national broadcasts, we present the Gospel in many unique ways to motivate and minister to our viewers and provide them with helpful information about current issues and events. Our goal – The Gospel in every home!
We air national programming and feature a special focus on local ministries and churches in the east Tennessee area. WVLR is a friend to the local pastor! We are here to help offer a platform for the local pastors and ministers to reach the communities we broadcast in.
