For nearly five decades, Sight & Sound Theatres has brought biblical stories to life on stage in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Branson, Missouri. According to the program, the theater attracts approximately two million guests each year.
Now, audiences who can’t attend a live production can experience these biblical stories from home.
Through The Wonder Project, recorded Sight & Sound productions are being released on a regular schedule. The rollout began with Jesus, followed by additional productions including Ruth, Moses, Queen Esther, and Daniel.
The productions offer audiences another way to experience some of the Bible’s most memorable stories through music, drama, elaborate staging, and powerful storytelling.
A New Faith-Filled Movie Is Coming to Nashville
Another major story featured on Good News on Entertainment is A Music City Story, a new film being produced in and around Nashville, Tennessee.
The movie stars recording artist and actor Moriah Smallbone alongside her real-life husband, Joel Smallbone. The film is being produced by Sony Pictures and Affirm Films, with Adam Anders writing and directing and creating original music with Moriah.
The story follows Mo, a struggling singer-songwriter who has been written off by Nashville. After leaving her controlling manager, she takes a chance on beginning again.
As Mo works to rebuild her career, she develops an unexpected relationship with Ryan, a contractor played by Joel Smallbone. Through their relationship, Ryan helps Mo rediscover both her faith and her voice.
A Real Nashville Church Gets a New Life
One of the most remarkable parts of the production happened off-screen.
In the movie, Ryan’s character is involved in rebuilding a church. Rather than creating an entirely fictional church set, the production worked with a real historic Nashville church.
The Church of the Holy Trinity, a 174-year-old Nashville landmark, needed significant renovations. According to the program, the production invested $100,000 to restore the historic sanctuary rather than simply constructing a temporary set.
It’s a unique example of film-making having an impact beyond the screen.
The movie also features country music stars Randy Houser and Tanya Tucker, adding even more musical talent to the production.
A Music City Story wrapped filming during the summer and is expected to arrive in theaters in 2027.
