WHBR Station - Pensacola, FL is looking for a Full Time Traffic Manager/Production/Office Assistant worker.

Primary Purpose:

General Function:
The Traffic Manager/Production/Office Assistant is responsible for all the programming (programs and breaks) that are broadcast on WHBR and the various reports and documentation that are required related to the programming. Plus, various Production and Office Assistant duties will also be required.

Traffic Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
• To create, edit, update, etc. the daily traffic logs and the Air Server playout schedule. To confirm the server playout schedule matches the printed traffic log. To make sure both are accurate and error free.
• To coordinate all audio and video inputs for airing: monitoring levels to assure quality sound and picture levels.
• To make immediate and proper decisions in emergency situations such as: loss of picture, sound, program over-runs, under-runs, equipment malfunctions or during an EAS alert. Be familiar with EAS procedures; both sending and receiving.
• To maintain proper and neat paperwork such as official station logs and discrepancy reports; to comply with FCC regulations and CTN policy.
• To arrange and schedule FTP downloads and review the FTP files (length, accuracy, etc.).
• Set up and confirm automated satellite airings. Knowledge of satellite receivers and related equipment is required.
• Call local programmers when needed (if a program has problems, not delivered in time, etc.).
• Coordinate with the production department for any needed in-house programs, ID’s, program promo tags, schedule promos, devotionals, etc.
• Complete Monthly Discrepancy Report – on time.
• Complete Annual FCC Children’s Report – on time.
• Keep track of all Programming Contracts. Keep filing records. Track expiration dates of contracts. Work with G.M. to renew and keep contracts up to date. Promptly review/approve and return contract-review copies from the Corporate Office.
• Coordinate with the G.M. all programming issues, changes, problems, etc. for approval and awareness.
• Email two weeks before the beginning of each month WHBR’s Program Schedule with changes to the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) contacts. Verify WHBR’s website is updated with the current schedule.
• “On call” if station goes “black,” airing the wrong program, etc. to quickly fix the problem and/or coordinate with Network Engineers to do so.
• Maintain a professional “on-air” image, through smooth, error free “switching” and to ensure an accurate program schedule (24/7).

Office Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assistant to General Manager.
• First to answer phones and doors, opening/distributing mail.
• Help organize, plan, coordinate special events (luncheons, parties, celebrations, etc.).
• Viewer correspondence. Promptly reply to viewer questions, concerns, etc.
• Any other administrative tasks as needed by the ministry.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment (office, MCR, Edit Room, Reception area).
• Purchase needed office, kitchen and cleaning supplies.

Production Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
• When needed produce, edit, tag various spots (IDs, Program Promos, devotionals, etc.) so a basic level of editing skill is required.
• Function as a ‘Production Assistant” which includes operating camera, ‘run audio,’ etc., in studio and at ‘On Location’ shoots. Studio prep work may also be required.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum: H S Graduate/GED
Prefer: Diploma or degree in Broadcasting or Media Production from a college or trade school, or equivalent experience and one year working in a television station or television production environment.

Other Requirements:
• Must be a born again Christian and attend a Bible believing church.
• Be able to lead a team and effectively communicate the goals, needs, and instructions for clear direction.
• Must be able to lift and move items up to 35 lbs. (studio camera, small furniture, lighting, etc.)
